No I am not a troll. I am an unhappy customer. I did not recall
As you can see porting is an issue for sunrocket customers. I am pissed off as hell because they lied to me.
It really that simple. Maybe this is not a big deal to you but if you had a number for 15-20 yrs, and all of a sudden no one can reach you then its a big deal. Its really that simple.
I posted in two posts because I wanted to make sure that users get help and if enough users have been lied to (keyword is if) then they should complain and let Packet8 know that signing up customers in a deceiving manner is unacceptable. I can not speak for everyone but more me, i am unhappy that this and the fact that there customer server manager will not call me back or will not speak to me when i call. |

| reply to Christie FYI, i was not trying to use two different anon names. However, I am pissed, but I want my number ported and I want to make sure that user hear my experience for the horrible customer service from packet 8.
I called 3-4 times and not once i could speak to a manager, and they said someone would call me back and not once they called me back. My sales rep that signed me up lied and the support is hossible, and i dont have my phone number. So i hope you can understand why i am extremely unhappy.
FYI, i found this site dslreports via google for porting problems for sunrocket to packet8. |

@avnet.com | reply to Christie Hi, I've been reading this thread for some time to track my own problem. My SR number was with Global Crossing and it took a little over 3 weeks (07/21 -> 08/16) and now all is well. Peace, Victor. |

| reply to Christie Someone please help! I have been wading through these forums all day and have been on the phone with Packet 8 and even Teleblend.
Packet 8 is blaming Teleblend for not releasing my number. I checked and it seems to be a Level 3 number. A supervisor said they are taking my case to the FCC. Somehow I don't think that will amount to much. In the meantime, I HAVE passed my 30 day period to cancel and still no port available.
Here is my question: is there anything I can do to get my old sunrocket number activated as soon as possible. I would even be willing to sign up with Teleblend. I don't even care about the equipment, I just have calls forwarded to my cell phone. I have the number on a bunch of signs and customers are going to think I'm out of business if I don't do something quick. Packet 8 seems to be implying that it could be weeks before the number is ported, and I can't afford to wait that long. Is there a chance I will lose the number all together? It will be expensive to have signs remade, but I can't go another 2-4 weeks without having the correct number on my signs.
Please help. Thanks. |

| I forgot to mention that I would like to only sign up with Teleblend for a month or so until Packet 8 gets the number ported to Packet 8.
Teleblend told me over the phone that the number is gone, and that the only way I could activate it would be to sign up with them. This is ethically and legally wrong it seems to me, but I don't know what choice I have. |

| reply to Christie I called packet 8 today to find out what the heck is going on with the porting. I signed up with them on the 20th of July and I still don't have my numbers ported yet. After being on hold for 10 minutes I was told that Sunrocket will not release my numbers and what really sucks is we paid $200 for a 3rd line for business and only got 2 months worth of use from it. They are now working under the name Teleblend which everyone on here already knows. The operator said that they had a list of the numbers that Sunrocket had and then they slowly started disappearing so after doing an investigation they found out that Sunrocket is refusing to release those numbers and she said that's against the law and Packet 8 has filed a compliant with the FCC. She said what Sunrocket is trying to do is get people to call Teleblend and then try to get the customer to sign up with them in order to get their number back. I hate this crap so much and am thinking about just getting a damn normal phone line so I don't have to deal with this. I wouldn't be so pissed if I could get my $200 back. |

| I'm in the same boat. I signed up on July 20th and still haven't had my number ported. I am trying to determine if I can sign up with Teleblend for a month just to have my number forwarded to my cell phone until Packet 8 gets this sorted out. I am on hold with Teleblend right now, but I know I can't trust anything they say so I'm hoping someone here will give me some ideas. |

| reply to Christie Besides sympathy, all I can say is that if you already have the "Porting" process in progress with packet8, then you are asking for worse troubles if you know try to call up teleblend and have anything done with that number.
I know that Packet8 and MANY other providers are fighting this exact same battle trying to get ex-sunrocket numbers released. The gaining provider can only keep pressuring the clec who has to pressuring the losing provider. I know it sucks, but as I said many providers are having this problem with SunRocket/Teleblend.
If you sign with Teleblend in hopes of getting your number and canceling Packet8, you may or may not get the number back. Then you will be starting all over again later which still could take the 4-6 weeks to port.
I don't speak for any of the providers; including Packet8; but some of the provider's leaders I've spoken with feel confident that by the end of the month most of these headaches should be behind them. In other words, they feel that they are making progress with the clecs and the politics involved. Especially for those who never signed up for the taliban. That in no way is me or anyone else telling you that you should stay with Packet8 or anyone else you are having the similar problem with thinking you are guaranteed to have everything done in the next 7-10 days. Only that they are working on it and feel that progress is being made. You have to decide for yourselves. Just understand the risk however. You could call teleblend and they might be able to give you number back immediately. However, it could already be released to the clec and it could take you just as much time or more to get it back then to stay and continue to put pressure on the providers.
Anyway, that's my $0.0245343 Take it for what it's worth. Later.... Mike..... |

| reply to Brian Grif_n I canceled Pack8 on 8/16/07, 8 days after sign up b/c I got no LNP status on-line. I got the same e-mail you got on 8/16/07 saying that the LNP is in process. I got an e-mail on 8/17/07 with RMA number and instruction to return the equipment. I just got an e-mail dated 8/27/07 saying "We have both of the forms needed to submit to our carrier...". It appears that they started the LNP process the day I cancel with them and just processed the forms needed to submit to CLEC. But I'm with another provider already trying to port my number.... I'm going to be very upset if they screw up my porting with my new provider. What's going on with you? |

| I also canceled P8 on 8/16, and my port to a different carrier is already complete - see my post »Re: Has anybody COMPLETED porting to their new provider?
I'm still waiting for my equipment return receipt from P8 - which I sent on 8/17. -- Check out my website: www.renowirelessinfo.com |
