| I don't think the line down my road is the best of quality (underground, installed mid-1980s and not touched since), but the line to the house was just replaced last summer. Seemed download speed dropped to 1.20MB/sec and hasn't moved since.
I was messing with the OOL FTP test and got 1.20 MB/sec, but obviously that's still a little ways under the cap. So, the bump did nothing for me.
FYI, the phone line was layed at the same time, and we have a noticeable hum on it, but Verizon doesn't want to do anything about it...so I would imagine the line quality down the road could be better. |
