Re: DGL-4300 Wireless and Counter-strike.

I did some research and find that WLAN is the reason why... No one seems to know how to get internet working with WLAN disabled and people recommended a program called VAL (Vista Anti-Lag). I get less lag spikes and the lag spikes last 1-2 seconds instead of 3-4 but it's still there.

Well I finally got it to work. I had to install windows XP on my second drive and disable windows zero configuration in services.msc I get constant 20 ping with no lag spikes finally. However, its a pain to dual boot every time I want to play a game. Hopefully there's a permanent vista fix for this soon. Thanks for all the help & suggestions.

I tried Ubuntu Linux, it's not functional enough for me. I need Photoshop, 3D Max, VirtualDub, Media Encoding Programs, etc. Also a lot of games I tried it was a pain to get it to work.

Anybody on BellSouth typically uses a Westell 2100, 2200,
6100 or 317w ..and as such, the units need a bridged
ethernet mode and PPPoE on the DLINK router itself.

And there are a number of wireless tweaks, too.

??? Bellsouth is my work ISP... At Home I use Comcast, and I already fixed the issue itself by using Windows XP and disabling Windows Zero Point Configuration. No more polling every 60 seconds.

No, it's called "Vista is full of too many bells and whistles." Windows XP SP2 works fine for wireless networks and gaming.
