May I ask what on this Earth AdAware finding killbits set in the Registry as false-positives has to do with which browser a person uses? %99 of the time you catch spyware using IE even If you secure it right. That's not an answer to my question, Oleg.
*Edit- And I suspect I could find a few people to give you an argument on the veracity of that statement, as well. hpguru , Name Game , and Link Logger for starters, I'd imagine. |

| reply to Oleg said by Oleg:said by AB:That's not an answer to my question, Oleg. Well warning could be real. The warning is real. Those are in fact killbits that have been set in the Registry. The problem is that they've been falsely identified by AdAware as an issue.
Any chance you're going to answer my original question? |

This issue will be resolved as of the next definition file release. ... Today's definition file release has the same two false positives I found on July 24. |

 | reply to onDvine Hi,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention! While we check this out further, we would invite anyone who may have exprienced the same detection to download the definition file from our website at »download.lavasoft.com/public/defs.zip. Unzip the file and replace the defs file in %Program Files%\Lavasoft\AdAware.
Cheers,

2 edits | reply to onDvine i updated "ad-aware" (ad-aware 1.06r) and did a scan and it still flagged the same two "CDN" items that it was flagging, before.. then i replaced the "defs.ref" file, like "ls_andy" said to do, did another scan and, then, ad-aware no longer flagged the "CDN" items..
good work, ls_andy, and lavasoft..
(i still wish that ad-aware had not started flagging "real" cookies, on my pc).. i use a premium version of "realplayer" and i have to "allow" "real" cookies in order for the premium version of "realplayer" to run as a premium player.. |
