Seeing as there was a lot of interest for another Long Island meet and greet sometime this fall, I wanted to toss out some potential dates and see what works best for everyone.
Our destination will most likely be the wineries at the east end of LI. The winery tours are an all day event and I can easily see us relaxing well into the evening, so please plan accordingly.
- I will be driving in from Queens & will be designated driver for anyone wanting to partake in the wine tasting.
- You DO NOT have to partake in the wine tasting to enjoy the winery tours, the views, and the fine dining. This is an occasion for us to get together, socialize and have a good time.
As a backup plan, we'll head to Port Jefferson and wing it. There are plenty of great cheap eats in the vicinity.
So lets toss out dates:
September 15th (Saturday)
September 16th (Sunday)
September 22nd (Saturday)
September 23rd (Sunday)

PS:
I understand that the east end of LI may be inconvenient for some... its been a while since the last 'official' M&G, so if anyone wants to toss out a date and a place (Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, NJ, CT, etc), we can get that ball rolling. Thanks!

Thanks! Good point, just because we are having another one on LI does not stop anyone from scheduling one on another date anywhere of your choosing.
We were badgering Dv8or to have one in Connecticut, so we are all open to ideas as to where to have it.
While the winery M&G might require a little more work than a normal M&G, setting up a M&G is as easy as picking a date, time & place. Maybe an hour tops if you physically visit the place, do reconnaissance and make a reservation. Ten minutes of your time is probably the normal amount of time it takes to do the actual legwork to put this in action.
Please, we would LOVE to have you suggest one and set it up...

Yes John is correct, it was called off because it got too cold to do the winery thing in November. The day we actually had our first LI M&G, it was in the 40's.
I agree with the "2 Johns" that we should do this at a winery and remain open to other M&G locations throughout the tri-state area.

I'm not averse to going a little bit into October to accommodate people, but beyond the first or second week has to be the latest we can have it, as things at the wineries change to a different "harvest" and the outside events dry up too...

| I'll be watching. I'll make that one too.
The boss and I have a deal worked out - I can go anywhere I want this fall, as long as I continue busting my ass this summer. She gets to fly to New York and Los Angeles this fall too - but that's for business.
I'll also be heading to Utah and California to visit one of my sisters, and meet one of our most entertaining and witty members, probably late October/early November.
