1 edit | Yeah nice iPhone
I just laugh at the morons that purchased a $600 phone with a 2yr contract when the phone: Lacks the ability to send SMS Picture Messages No expandable memory No notification of new messages unless you open the menu Can't set a song as a ringer (LOL) Speaker volume is too low (many complaints there) Constant freezing or lag when the unit is on too long
Now a exploit? Good job apple, nice phone. Really sounds like they half assed the iPhone. |

Funny how my first two Blackberrys were missing several of those features (and/or had the same issues), but poeple didn't say a got damn thing, and love their Blackberrys... Interesting, the prejudice against Apple. |

| reply to aliasrlz Yes, I know may non-buyers feel it's an over priced piece of technology but at $30,000 - $40,000 for a mom and pop car I feel $600.00 for a computer phone is not that much out of line. We sure as heck don't bitch about car prices.
If you use it just for a phone then don't buy one. If you use it for just an iPod then don't buy one.
You need to be using several of the features to justify the purchase and in my case it does exactly what I need it to do.
Tell me where else I can buy a portable computer (the size of a pack of smokes) that allows me to be in my boat in the middle of the lake or at a meeting with a client and see that exact web page that was in an email link from the client. It allows links to several different email accounts and flips from Edge to wireless as soon as an open network is available. Heck the Google maps alone make it worth the cost of the phone. Just think of all the technology packed into this small package. Don't like the price don't buy one.
As Captain Kirk said: "Beam me up Scotty" Can that be so far behind this?? |

| for 299$ you can have the 8525 which not only supports hsdpa..but edge too....as well as the option of using it as a tether modem for a laptop(none of which iphone do)...with opera i get flash support and it displays as it does on my desktop although not as nice as the iphone... and you silly man,,,,google maps is FREE on all smartphones and even standard cellphones(www.google.com\m)..didnt have to pay 599$ for that sorry..did i mention its also faster because my phone uses hsdpa?...have fun waiting for your itoy to load that up on edge because apple was too cheap to add hsdpa support(not att's fault no matter how much you want it to be)...and wifi in the middle of a lake?.yah right youll be using edge if ur lucky..dialup anyone?....and yes my phone also supports wifi...expandable memory up to 8gb...full ms office suite on the go. blah blah blah
but then here's some funny things apple's "amazing technology" doesnt include
no hsdpa(weird, phones from 2006 have this)
no 3d support(screw any games on that nice widescreen)
no a2dp support (hope you like those white earplugs...because a bluetooth stereo headset you wont be enjoying anytime soon..nice deep earphone socket too...does it make sense to have no a2dp support for a supposed media/music phone?)
no songs as ringtones? LOL is all i can say, 8 gigs of music and i cant use one as a ringtone?!@$...
no 3rd party apps (anything you dont like from apple? tough cookie!...while i enjoy many apps, homebrew and hacked apps etc..you get whatever apple feeds you)
no removeable battery (dead argument..we know why apple does this)
no real youtube (thats right..that youtube on iphone is merely its own youtube portal with its own set of videos..meanwhile i just hacked my phone to show full quality flv video from www.youtube.com itself..no separate portal missing all the latest videos)
perfect browser? hardly..no flash support..no windows media streaming support i wonder why and did i mention good luck pulling a whole page up on edge?(and yes i tried it i demo'd the iphone for 2 weeks)
i could go on and on but apple fanbois will merely come up with a excuse or point a finger so ill stop here... i will say i seriously considered the iphone as i upgraded last month..beautiful screen...nice looking interface although lacking alot..these are the only things i can say are unique about it...even these features can be found elsewhere..but unlike the moron im quoting i REALLY do work while at home or on a "lake" and i sure wouldnt want a crippled limited iphone with me when i have business to do on the go(have fun pulling that page up on edge)...thats why i chose a htc device...simply more functions for the businessman on the go...the iphone is merely a porche that cant go faster than 25mph..what a waste...so much potential...c'mon apple fanbois wake up...see facts for once
when apple addresses these issues i WILL purchase one..maybe 2...but i wont pay 599$ for a phone that a 299$ one does better...just because its crippled i mean *made by apple |

| reply to bmfan said by bmfan :if the blackberry was in on the site in every other news article and all over the web on every site. you probably would have. No, because I don't equate my phone to a body part like many here. They attack the iPhone (& Apple) as if someone called them "little dick" or something .... its a phone, get over it! They can opt "not to buy", but the constant bashing of a phone is getting a bit ridiculous. Everyone has preferences, and the Treo, Moto Q, Blackberry, Razr, whatever ... all had something people didn't like or missing, but the bashing wasn't this relentless. It's just pure dumbass... |

| reply to AT AT,
I agree, but what the bashers don't realize is that just because its "not for them", doesn't mean everyone else has to hate or dislike it. They can't just "not buy it", and go spend their bashing time doing something constructive, lol They must really have some screws loose...lol |

THEN DON'T BUY ONE!!! ..... Other people may not give a fat rat's ass about YOU think its lacking or missing... STFU and keep your piece of shyt 8525 which others already called a piece of crap in other threads when you yapped about it the first time......
I, for one, don't give a shyt about what YOU think its lacking, many of which is your own opinion of the app or features, keep that in mind ...DON'T BUY IT AND STFU!! |

The point is you don't see us on those boards, or the Nokia board, yapping about the features that are missing ... We just simply don't buy the phone. |

I am not an Apple hater, as I think it could be a neat phone. But I was hoping that most of the basic functions I have already would be there, especially for that price. Maybe in the future. -- "A religious war is like children fighting over who has the strongest imaginary friend."

I am not an Apple hater, as I think it could be a neat phone. But I was hoping that most of the basic functions I have already would be there, especially for that price. Maybe in the future. Let's see -- my 1st Blackberry was $500, didn't have many of the features someone noted, and hardly any storage space at all! My 2nd, at $350, still doesn't have much storage space, and many of the features people are whining about.
The Treo? When it introduced, I believe it was upwards of $500-$700 with fewer features and definitely not 4GB or 8GB of storage.....
Are we going to compare smartphones to smartphones? Or just compare the iPhone to everything on the market ? (which is obviously not equal playing ground)... |

Keep in mind that some features the iPhone does have, OTHER phones do not .... so it is choice for the consumer on what is important "to them"..... |
