| Dish 625 receiver...whatching 2 different channels?
We just got our dish DVR setup installed.
We have the Dish 625 with 2 televisions installed.
We can use both remotes in 2 seperate rooms but cant watch different channels. Ie...Whatever is on TV1 is always displayed on TV2.
If we set the mode on the receiver to 'Single' both remotes work for their respective TV's but both show the same program/channel. If we set the receiver to 'Dual Mode', the remote for TV2 will not control the receiver.
Is this a setup problem I can fix or did the dish installer fail to set up the receiver correctly? |

The manual explains how to configure the 2nd remote, in case that wasn't done by the installer. |

| Not sure how these are supposed to be set up...
The Sat comes in and is split just before the receiver as 1 and 2...the 2 cables are connected to their respective inputs locations on the rear of the receiver.
The feed to TV1 is an rg6 from the receiver to the back of my #1 TV (an LCD set)...this one works properly
I'm not sure how TV2 gets its feed, there is not an rg6 connected to the TV2 outlet on the receiver but there is rg6 in the room with TV2, that tv shows the same channel as TV1. It seems like tv1 and tv2 are receiving the same feed.
The manual says to set TV2 to channel 60 Ant...there is not an option with that tv for 'Ant'...only TV, Vid 1 or Vid 2. If we put it on 'TV' channel 3 it displays the same as TV1. The Vid1/2 options on that tv are looking for a component input such as a DVD/game...where there is no channel to select.
I'm lost... |

| reply to rbrackett1 You said said by rbrackett1 : Whatever is on TV1 is always displayed on TV2. and then said by rbrackett1 : there is not an rg6 connected to the TV2 outlet on the receiver That's not possible then. I can't understand how your 2nd TV is displaying any programming from that receiver. |

| reply to rbrackett1 Assuming receiver, why would a LCD TV be connected PG6 vs composite, S-V, or component
Are you SURE that RG6 is actually going to TV1 via RF and why??? If there is RG6 going to the second TV and it is getting any signal but nothing connected to TV2 RF out.... sounds like installer did exactly what I suggested and both are actually connected to TV1. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

| said by Hayward :Assuming receiver, why would a LCD TV be connected PG6 vs composite, S-V, or component Safe to say the installer did it that way. I would ask why have an SD receiver and no HD programming with an LCD (then again, not all LCDs are HD). |

| Heyward...you hit the nail on the head!
I looked on the back of the receiver...
My LCD is connected via component cables to the TV1 outputs...
My second tv was connected to the RG6 connector on the TV1 block...
I moved the RF cable to the TV2 block and all is working well!
Thanks guys |

4 edits | Glad it was that easy.... sure sounded like that.
And don't necessarily blame this on DISH most are CONTRACT installers even if in a DISH labeled truck (as is a lot of DTV/cable especially in small markets)... not exactly rocket scientists and may have just been having a bad day.... and why places like this are around Hopefuly you came here first vs a half hour on hold.... and is it plugged in kind of help. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)
