First of all, the numbers mentioned before the ATT statement (and Apple's coming tomorrow) were just speculation. They were uneducated guesses.

Second, there were *at least* 146,000 sold, since its probably that not 100% of sold phones were activated. Many new buyers (including me) had trouble activating in the 30 hours and may not have been counted.

And third, selling and activating 146,000 $500 to $600 gadgets in 30 hours is a phenominal feat. (This high load likely explains the activation problems incurred).

For a real picture, wait for the next quarter.
