| About fedup with TB
Well, it has been an interesting ride, but frankly I am starting to feel like many of the other people on this forum already feel...
I am very surprised at how little even the CEO knows what is going on..
Statements like "we don't have access to the equipment" doesn't mesh with other statements like "we are paying the bills to keep the service up for old SR users"
I am really starting to wonder if any one person with the company, or outsourced, or what-have-you, has any full grasp or picture of just what is going on, and how it is all working. I have a feeling many people right now, with the company, and such, are in this position.
I paid for this month of service, fully expecting at least by now, for everything to be history, and I could get back to just expecting my phone to work.
With the information we are being given, I am not sure I even feel comfortable telling people I know, that it is ok to go back to relying on my SR/TB phone number, and to stop calling my cell.
By Monday, I will be in a position to decide if I am staying or going.
The ball is in your court now TB, good luck. -- Give me bandwidth or give me death!

Don't underestimate Mr. Fogg....He knows everything that is going on as he is funding it. In fact he's successful enough that he wasn't at all concerned about being embarrased, as he should have been.

1 edit | Re: About fedup with TB I was just as underwhelmed as everybody else with Mr. Fogg's almost scripted performance. I don't know who he thinks he's kidding about not having access to the Gizmos. Anyway, it's all been said to death, but I just found this statement on Nuvio's Website:
"Note: If you have a Linksys SPA-2102, please try to unlock the device using these instructions before signing up for Nuvio service. A small number of customers are reporting difficulty unlocking the Linksys SPA-2102. This is likely due to TeleBlend, in a effort to retain a portion of the SunRocket Customer base having likely reconfigured passwords on the Linksys SPA-2102. Nuvio is currently working on a solution for this issue. Please check this page for updates."
It is interesting to see another VOIP provider weighing in on the debate. While their language is carefully chosen as to not directly implicate TB of any wrong doing, the inference is there. I wonder what Mr. Fogg thinks about the Nuvio statement?

Follow any of the numerous posts or guides to unlock it and disable provisioning if you ever want to use it for something other than TeleBlend. that's ok, it's an AC-211, and i've got the crack programs to fetch the passwords. the idea is to just plug in the AC-211 and my computer into a hub, fire up wireshark, and power up the AC-211. and if they are changing the passwords, hopefully it'll be in the clear (hell, they didn't do anything else right)... -- Get your Gizmo Admin Passwords, Unlock Instructions, and How To use your Gizmo with other providers at »gizmopasswords.blogspot.com NukedGallery.net

Do something else. Why is it that so many here are fixated on all the issues with TB. My personal answer, was staying with TB required the least amount of effort and work for me. I am sure I am not alone in feeling that way.
I had originally given up on SR, and ordered service from my cable company. When news of TB started to come out, I was happy to cancel that order, and give TB a shot.
As you can tell by my original post in this thread, I am getting to the end of my rope. -- Give me bandwidth or give me death!

| Re: About fedup with TB After reading all this I agree with you. TB was the easiest and seemingly the fastest way to keep our numbers intact. By Monday, they will have had about 2 weeks to get voice mail and international calls working. That should be enough time even given all going on with I am sure all the legitimate efforts they are trying.
Monday, it is for me too.

| I know you're frustrated, many of us are. But I think it will be a long time before anyone can truly feel comfortable about TB.
You know we've got active support in our forums from VT and others.
My 2cents, attached image is is another clue. In a forum thread here, N2P is actually trying to port former SR phone# in 24 hours.
We aren't on our own, we aren't stranded, and we definitely owe nothting to TB.

| Re: About fedup with TB With the flurry of emails threatening loss of service, we quickly signed up with TeleBlend just so we wouldn't lose our four phone numbers while waiting for another VoiP service to port them, because we've had them since Verizon landline days. After this SunRocket experience, we wanted to research VoiP alternatives more thoroughly and select a more stable company for service.
After careful review, we established an account with Net2Phone yesterday and now wonder if the SunRocket offer will be extended to us because we are trying to keep our four phone numbers alive with TeleBlend. We hope it will be. Can you shed some light?
Also, can we establish a secondary calling plan at a 10% discount, as Net2Phone's site says? Finally, do the virtual numbers have features associated with them -- voice mail, call forwarding, etc. -- as they did with SunRocket?
Thanks for your help! | |

| Re: About fedup with TB said by voiplover :... Buy us not paying them, I have little ground to stand on at this juncture. How about asking why should I join and pay until you show you can handle things minimally. I sent 3 web and email requests and have waited on speakerphone twice but can't seem to connect. My service is working pretty well, and I already have several active alternatives. I appreciate how busy they must be, but, if they cut me off before we talk, I have little incentive to continue. | |

| Re: All circuits are busy Forever........ said by voiplover :... The scoop is that TB cut off Choice One DIDs and some other small clecs. They don't plan to reconnect them for at least a month, if ever. TB will still let you sign up using DIDs from those clecs but they don't bother trying to port any body. ... Fore those that are having good luck with TB; I wish you the best. And they call themselves a communications company.
Now is the time for tough hard business decisions. SunRocket tried to be all things to all people for cheap. I have no problem with them cutting CLEC's that are not profitable ... even if it is one I need. I happen to be one of those having good luck with TB. Why not let those affected know what is or may be coming, or that they will no longer get incoming calls? This whole affair has been handled so poorly I have serious doubts about a future with any of them. Why not take my lumps now and be done with it.

| Re: About fedup with TB Well I transfered over to TB and I'm surprised by the sound quality I'm getting compared to SR's of last months. It takes time to get 200,000 people transfered over I'll give it a month or two but I've had SR for 3 years and they kept re-newing me at the $99.00 a year deal and I was on my last month so I'm not out much but let's see if TB will keep there word because they said they will honor 1 year for me at 12.95 + the taxes of $2.85 when I signed up over the phone (45 minute wait) I never lost service here is Salt Lake City but I've noticed a difference ( with Sunrocket when I pushed talk on the phone it would click 3 times then go to dial tone now it's just straight to dial tone and when I dial out with TB it's faster then SR??) I've lost my Signature # but I never used it so that's no big deal...Just did'nt want to lose my main # after 3 years and I moved from Packet 8 to SR due to sound quality and I do like TB's so far?? | |

| So has anybody that has been Blended, actually sniffed the traffic to their Gizmo to see what IP address TB is using, thus far it seems that people who switched to TB are still getting the same level of service that people who have done nothing are getting. Is TB still using the same block of IP addresses that SunRocket was using? Have they actually reprovisioned your Gizmo? Do your calls still show in your SunRocket member portal?

| Re: About fedup with TB ^ This thread seems to stray off topic, but... Yeah, it is now 3 months free at VT, but I still signed up with them. 3 months is better than nuttin. I guess VT had the change there special offer a couple of times, and in rather quick succesion. I don't think that they expected as large of a migration from former SR users. I guess they understimated what a little good press will do for ya.
Anyway, in a feeble attempt to get back on topic, I hope that VT and others are able to woo many customers away from TB. TB, while the easiest path of migration, is only in it for short-term gain and to help repay secured creditors. Don't get me wrong, I believe that a company should make money, but ethics and transparency seem to be lacking at TB, and I think that they are going to pull the plug on all the former SunRocket customers as soon as their SR contract terms are coming to an end, and the $12.95/mo. ain't cuttin' it any more. IMO TB customers are likely to go through this all over again in about 9mo. to 1yr.

| You might not have heard but Net2Phone, the oldest VOIP company since 1996, is offering to honor former SR customers contracts. If you sign up you get 3 months free and we will honor the rest of the contract time at no monthly service fee (just the tax and federal surcharge thing). We'll also port the number. If you have the InnoMedia adapter you save more, you don't need the activation fee for a new adapter (saves $29) or the shipping for it ($10).
For more info you can visit the site »web.net2phone.com/sunrocket/#rebate or reply here/PM me. If you have any questions please let me know how I can help, that's why I'm here

I went with Packet8 as a temporary solution to SunRocket's demise and they were able to port my SunRocket number to Packet8.
Can I take advantage of Net2phone's offer for SunRocket customers if I cancel my Packet8 service within their 30 day cancellation window.?
Or does the fact that I would be switching from Packet8 and not from SunRocket nullify the Net2phone offer.?
Thanks. | |

| Like many others here, I switched over to Teleband as soon as it was offered. It was the least path of resistance, and kept my number and most other things in tact. I have not had any problem, except for the flashing red light on the gizmo, with has now gone green. This will leave me ample time to explore other providers. If I am pleased with Teleband, I will stay. As of now, I have no gripe. | |

| I thought I was the only one feeling the pain. I have signed up with TB from SR since July. The charged my CC on 7/30 thinking that my phone service will not be disconnected. I've waited until 8/6 and no service. I've submit ed service tickets twice since then and no reply. I've tried calling only to find out that their customer service lines are all disconnected. I think they maybe running out of business. But that company was just formed on 7/16 same time SR announced that they were going out of business. Sound coincident? Are they the same owners? I can honestly say that I won't stick around to find out. I'm going to dispute my CC charges and I'm going with another service. Their web site is terrible. I can't change anything but my payment method. All they care about is that I can pay them. | |
