[BT] DMCA notices

Hey a friend of mine that uses bitorrent got a DMCA notice that says his ip was caught infringing. He asked me what to do about it and I said to just ignore it, but I am not sure as it says that they want to resolve the matter in good faith and then it says to go to the link attached in the letter and state what actions you have taken to stop infringing. Either that or it says to send an email. So should he do it or what. I think this is some kind of sting operation personally.

Don't do anything.

Their suggestions sound like they want your friend to be tricked into admitting something.

Ditching BT is probably the most valuable advice you can give him. It's ridiculously easy to be caught using BT for warez.

I'm assuming your friend got an email warning?

Then he/she doesn't have to do anything. Unless it's certified paper mail.

You don't have to do anything about emails. Ignore it.
