Re: Atheros driver for Belkin N1 Wireless cards Still having trouble myself. dev11, do you have version 1 or 2 of this card and how did you determine the chipset? |
|
1 edit | I have version one of the card.
What you may want to try:
1) Install the Belkin driver 2) Open up Control Panel, Network Connections, Right click on the Belkin N1 Desktop card and click DISABLE 3) Extract the Atheros driver file ar5416.sys into your \Windows\System32\Drivers\ folder. If asked to overwrite, select YES. 4) Enable the N1 Desktop Card. 5) Reboot
Since the Belkin driver package uses the same driver file as the Atheros driver, it works great. |

 | I also have version 1. Thanks for the help, but no go so far. I'm running Vista. Is the ar5416.sys for XP? I could only find this file in the XP driver files. I tried it, but I don't think my system is using this file.
Anyway, I tried the same thing using the athr.sys file from the Vista drivers, but had no improvment. I can connect briefly, but get a complete lock up after a couple of seconds (sometimes not even that). |
