Sorry, so sorry.

This is as sad as MCI/WorldCom going under. I have a land-line from Verizon do you think this could happen to me?

Why don't you all switch to Vonage, they should be around for another six months.

Well, I can care less if vonage last six months. I will still be paying way less than you for more service.

I hate what happen to SR, but my break even point with SR was 5 months. It last me 12 so I got lucky. But, rest assure I wont prepaid for phn services again. Even with monthly vonage I'm saving $28 a month.

If they go out,,, I guess I will have to wait 3 - days for ATT Call Vantage or VoiceWing to port my #. I can live with that..

Yep, just like any other business... Of couse we all know the government would probably come and bail Verizon out before they went tits up, like the government did with the airlines...

Prove it...
Save the Internet Time (NTP) service, use the pool.

Verizon is a real company not a bunch of leeches like »www.savewithusa.com/ and is doing just fine.

VoIP from USA Telephone is over $30 a month at my location and has a smaller local calling area then Verizon.

If Verizon is the Incumbent, then they have 'provider of last resort' requirements. If an incumbent were to go under, then they would go into 'receivership', and continue operations under court supervision. So, loosing pots from an incumbent due to bankruptcy would be very difficult.

A leech doesn't pay for what they get... Last I checked, CLECS pay for the capacity they use, ergo, the leech terms fails.

Try again ?

TPC can't refuse them and they pay less then market value. That is a leech.

That's funny, but your selective grasp on facts is blinding you again... The Bells AGREED to let them on the network. And the rate that they are paying, wholesale, is basically the same as it costs the Bells to operate the line themselves. Market value is once you add on your margins because there is no WAY it actually costs $20+ to deliver standard POTS.

Want to try again ?

and if I may add, they are PAYING MARKET VALUE at a WHOLESALE LEVEL. You could try to negotiate the same rate with Verizon, but you will probably have to buy 100k worth of phn service to get it...

That is true, TPC got to supply long distance for opening up the network. Now TPC is placing FiOS and CLECs are excluded. Bad management indeed.

That is only to share the actual last mile. If they change to VoIP then VZ has no control the Fiber ruling only affects the last mile not using the actual Internet or wholesaling DIDs.

VoIP is not really leeches they are thieves and will have to pay Verizon for stealing their pattens.

Not all VoIP companies used the patents. 8x8 didn't they actually own theirs. And VZ only has the balls to go after the little companies.

And you can't steal anything that is open source.

VoIP is a thief not a leech.

Wrong again... Verizon's patent was built on prior art... So, if anything, Verizon is a thief for patenting other people's work.

Why didn't you file an amicus curiae brief instead of posting here?

You are a funny guy. We all know idiotic the patent system has become. Evidently your knowledge of the case is limited to the headlines in the news.
