Does the receiving party, from a magicJack international call, also have to have a magicJack to receive the calls? To make free calls, to a magicJack international line, does the caller need to be making the calls through a magicJack? |

1 edit | Right now, magicJack only allows calls to the US and Canada. They do not have "international" calling capability.
However, there's a post from someone who bought one, set it up, and then mailed it overseas to relatives. They can now use it to call back to the US. You can take your magicJack anywhere in the world, and call back to the US and Canada "free". But you won't be able to call anyone in the country you're visiting.
If you have a MJ, and you send a friend an MJ in Italy (as an example), you can call each other for free. That's because even though your friend is physically in Italy, his phone number is in the US - so to MJ you're making a US to US phone call. |

@verizon.net | reply to laserjobs You can use a USB hub if you do not have another USB drive. But make sure USB should be externally powered. |

This is a phone I bought on eBay (not Overstock) to use with my Magicjack. It has mixed reviews but it looks good to throw in a notebook case for traveling. I haven't got it yet but hopefully this week...If you see it on ebay with best offer mine was $3 and was accepted of course another $6 and change for shipping. |

| reply to jeffnyc Same phone I bought from Overstock.com. It is a LOT smaller than the pictures lead you to believe, almost too small to use comfortably. The audio is not very loud so if you have a bit of noise around you it will be hard to hear. The ringer is not very loud. Some of the keystrokes are not intuitive, like hitting the redial (RD) key located under the zero key to dial out. You have to really pay attention if dialing a number with a zero in it, as one tends to hit the redial key, before the number is complete.
The headset has a earpiece mount that gets uncomfortable quickly.
Having said that, it is still a good size to toss onto a laptop bag for traveling use, just don't plan on using it much for day to day calls. -- "The world is a book; those who do not travel read but a single page." -St. Augustine |
