Re: Permanent Greeting, part twoHi all my name is Don. I got in to computers late in life and started out with a windows machine.I ended up owning two at one time because i got hooked real fast on computers.A friend that i worked with bought a new Mac Mini and he never could get it connected to the internet as he didn't really know any thing about Mac's so i traded him a new HP for the Mac Mini and from then on i was hooked.I now own a Mac Pro a Mac Book Pro and still have the mini.I use all three machines and every chance i get i try and get all my friends to make the switch. |

I'm Eddie and I'm not a Mac convert, just a returning son. I've owned Macs in the past and loved them but my wife wasn't a fan and didn't really care to learn about it so slowly I went back to PCs but always running Linux. With Vista coming out, my wife finally started looking at Macs and started to ask me to replace her aging XP laptop for a new MacBook. We now own two 13" MacBooks and a 1 TB Time Capsule. She loves her Mac and I'm happy to be back to using Macs. |

Okay here I am saying Hello! I am completely new to the Mac scene. I bought a Macbook yesterday (4/31) and have since been on it all day long using it and trying to figure it out. I like it allot. Among having to learn where to find things, I need to learn how to do so called "simple" things that seemed easy with the PC. For example, saving a picture from the web???? PC= right click, and save picture. Mac= I don't know yet. I guess I'll figure it out some time. Mean while, I love the Macbook and am very happy I finally bought one. I've wanted one for at least 2 years. |

Hold the control key (ctrl +click is the right click) down while clicking on the image. The mouse driven Safari drop down menu item for that is . . . > File > Save As. This opens a dialog box asking whether to save as Web Archive (images) or Page Source (code). Navigate to the desired folder and hit the Save Button. Same as the keyboard control + right click. |

Hi everyone. I just bought my first Mac. It is an older Powerpc G4 500mhz with Mac OS 10. It is a nice learner machine. I plan on upgrading it soon with a better video card and processor. I have been an avid PC user and PC tech for many years. I see the justification on having both systems. I don't see the Mac as a replacement for my PC or vice versa, but they do compliment each other very nicely. I also use my iphone like it is going out of style. |

I flunked pics with both my first purchase of the Macbook, and then shortly after, an iMac. |
