[VoiceStick] How I solved my configuration woes

Several things broke on Thursday:

(1) Voicestick claimed in an e-mail they sent out Thursday that their servers were changing to 206.165.50.117 (port 5060) and 206.165.50.116 (port 80). However, this is just not the case. It seems that there was a typo -- their working ports are 206.165.50.116 (ports 80 and 5060).

(2) Voicestick has started forbidding calls originated blocked caller ID set -- their softphone usually reports "Forbidden" and with an ATA the call generates a fast busy.

To make your phone work, set your ATA to point to 206.165.50.116/5060 and turn off caller-ID blocking from your phone.

Shouldn't this feature be an option? My company blocks all outbound CID (don't ask my why) and there is no way to turn it on by ourselves (*82 doesn't work). How am I supposed to call home?

Why did Voicestick make this change to forbid blocking caller-id?

My guess is that they did it by accident, and haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. We'll see!

Anyone else have the issue of calls to (canadian) 800 or 888 #'s randomly disconnecting? (usually in the fist minute)It's getting really annoying.

...looks like it might be my ata adapter or something weird like that. the softphone just worked fine.
