Is it normal for Comcast to upgrade some parts of a town and not others? My neighbor down the street was a recent subscriber at the time and was blessed at the start with a 2 mbps upload. A little over a year later, I'm still only at 768 kbps.
Depending on the size of the town, it will typically be split into nodes. I'm not certain if each node has it's own CMTS or not. Also, it may depend on whether your modem has received the updated configuration info, too.

Don't look at me, the bill isn't in my name. I just use the internet for sports and internet I swear. Thanks for reminding me never to go in their room for anything other than YouTube pranks.

Speedtier extreme used to mean the Blast 16/1 tier:

d11_m_ [******] _speedtierextreme_c01.cm=(16/1) Blast

d11_m_ [******] _speedtierextreme2_c01.cm=(16/2) Blast

*denotes modem model number.

Which speedtier/service are you actually subscribed to ?
Thanks for the response, I did in fact have the wrong config file. I was able to get it sorted out by using the Comcast direct forum, Comcast Steve was a star.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if this was more of a problem with me, or if it was a question about the tier upgrades. I thought I would ask here first before assuming something was wrong.

I'd try posting in the Comcast Direct forum and have them make sure you are getting sent the correct config file for your modem:

I'm on the discounted premier high speed with the Gold Advantage package.
What kind of modem do you have?

Also what does it say on your billing statement that you are paying for exactly?
I have a Motorola SB 5100.

Hello, I'm sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this, but I haven't found any information elsewhere.

I'm on the discounted premier high speed with the Gold Advantage package.

I've never brought it up before, but I've reset my modem and router about once a month in hopes that I would get the better upload. I can live without it, but it would be helpful since once in a while I need to RDC to my home computer from work.

Hi, I wonder if anyone could help with an issue that I'm having ? I had to have my modem changed on Saturday and I go from the RCA DHG-535 to the 536. I have been having problems with CDV since the modem change and tonight tech support ( ) did some rebooting of the modem there end and I received a new config file (and my CDV still has problems)

d11_v_dhg536_speedtierextreme_c03.cm

Now my speeds have gone from

to

Has anyone seen this file before I cant seem to find a reference to it.

Thanks in advance

Oh no, I did get doubled at no charge. I went from 8/1whatever it was to 16/2 (and like I said I'm more or less already getting 20/2...more like 20/6 actually)

If you want to go 20/2 it's $10 more a month.
Nah, I am good with 16/2, just not sure if I have been upgraded yet. Perhaps I have since the site shows that now. I will call tonight to confirm

Yeah mind you it is $10 more a month of course, and since I just signed up for CDV I'm not going to bother right now. I'm pretty happy with my current speeds (which are pretty much 20/2 anyways).
Hmmm, I have the 8/2, I thought they were doubling the speeds at no charge? Maybe I am wrong?
