said by Acuity :Is it normal for Comcast to upgrade some parts of a town and not others? My neighbor down the street was a recent subscriber at the time and was blessed at the start with a 2 mbps upload. A little over a year later, I'm still only at 768 kbps. Depending on the size of the town, it will typically be split into nodes. I'm not certain if each node has it's own CMTS or not. Also, it may depend on whether your modem has received the updated configuration info, too. |

Which speedtier/service are you actually subscribed to ? Thanks for the response, I did in fact have the wrong config file. I was able to get it sorted out by using the Comcast direct forum, Comcast Steve was a star. |

1 edit | reply to EG Hello, I'm sorry if this is the wrong spot to post this, but I haven't found any information elsewhere.
Is it normal for Comcast to upgrade some parts of a town and not others? My neighbor down the street was a recent subscriber at the time and was blessed at the start with a 2 mbps upload. A little over a year later, I'm still only at 768 kbps.
I'm on the discounted premier high speed with the Gold Advantage package.
I've never brought it up before, but I've reset my modem and router about once a month in hopes that I would get the better upload. I can live without it, but it would be helpful since once in a while I need to RDC to my home computer from work. |

I went from 8/1whatever it was to 16/2 (and like I said I'm more or less already getting 20/2...more like 20/6 actually) If you want to go 20/2 it's $10 more a month. Nah, I am good with 16/2, just not sure if I have been upgraded yet. Perhaps I have since the site shows that now. I will call tonight to confirm |

| reply to LordLOC said by LordLOC :Yeah mind you it is $10 more a month of course, and since I just signed up for CDV I'm not going to bother right now. I'm pretty happy with my current speeds (which are pretty much 20/2 anyways). Hmmm, I have the 8/2, I thought they were doubling the speeds at no charge? Maybe I am wrong? |
