I just received the letter saying they "upgraded" my account to blast service. It says speeds download up to 16 megs and upload up to 2 megs. I live in Pittsburgh btw. Going to run some tests as well as tweak my settings to make better use of this so called blast.. |

| reply to runningwolf i have Blast in Scotch Plains NJ.... it was 16/1 when i first got it, now it seems it has gone up to 16/2... here is one of my latest speed tests

Normally my download is a little higher... but since I have my xbox on and running, my gamefuel settings gives that priority |

| Do you have any info. from any source to indicate you now have 16/2? Currently 16/2 is offered in ex-Adelphia areas that are DOCSIS 2.0. -- Write me up a 125.......I Can't Drive 55 »redrocker.com/ »cabowabo.com/ |

Your DL is a little low for 16Mb also. Try other speed test servers.
Your UL on a true 2Mb should be about 225KB a second and you are only getting about 170KB. This has me curious if comcast is saying "up to 2Mb" and really just giving 1.5 in certain loctaions.
Does your bill actually say 16/2? |

| reply to sortofageek On speed tests my UL only goes around 1500-1700 as well. But my XDCC bot/fserve on IRC has reached 300, and has sustained 200+ on 10-30 minute sends.
also i've kept my BT seeding speed between 200-300 constantly for 20 hours.
I've seen alot of people that have lieing speedtests on the UL side of the 16/2... |

I live outside of State College, PA which has FiOS and of course 16/2 Blast. My area is part of the State College system and I do in fact get 16/2; however, I'm not in Verizon's territory and can not get FiOS. -- Write me up a 125.......I Can't Drive 55 »redrocker.com/ »cabowabo.com/ |

| reply to sortofageek Blast is available in my are of Moon Twp in Pittsburgh, PA. FIOS is not currently available but is coming very soon. Most parts of Moon Twp do have FIOS available already. Comcast bumped me for free since i was a subscriber to the 8MB service. I am sure a preemptive move since I would likely be someone that would switch to FIOS. I needed a new modem as my original one was from 2002. |

The Blast 16/2 tier is just now available in my area (North Central WV). Seems all customers who currently pay xtra for the 8Mb tier are getting a free upgrade to Blast 16/2. Verizon is in my area in the form of dsl only..thus far. Since CC usually offers Blast to compete with Fios, maybe that means fios is on the way to my area...w00t!! Would love to tell CC to stick it...sick of their tactics with BW limiting and manipulation of the bittorrent protocall.

| they are only doing blast in west virginia and eastern ohio because I think they want to have the same services available in all of the pittsburgh/tri-state regional systems. I asked my aunt who works for verizon and she told me that FIOS won't be available in any of west virginia to at least 2010!!! |

I hope this is sufficient proof that I have blast. i noticed under Pennsylvania Pittsburgh was not added as a city even though multiple said we have it. Do I have to cut paste from my bill next month too? |
