You can use the magicjack with most phones, just like with any other kind of service.
The broadband and computer have to be on, but you can close off one of the internal lines in your house and then call from any phone jack that you wish.
Calls are free in the U.S. and Canada. They are planning to have international rates. However, if the international line has a magicjack, then you can call them and they can call you for free. |

| Right now, magicJack only allows calls to the US and Canada.
They do not have "international" calling capability.
However, there's a post from someone who bought one, set it up, and then mailed it overseas to relatives. They can now use it to call back to the US.
You can take your magicJack anywhere in the world, and call back to the US and Canada "free". But you won't be able to call anyone in the country you're visiting.
If you have a MJ, and you send a friend an MJ in Italy (as an example), you can call each other for free. That's because even though your friend is physically in Italy, his phone number is in the US - so to MJ you're making a US to US phone call. |
