Turning off modem timeout..

My external modem times out and drops its connection like, every 3-4 hours and makes me have to redial(my computers internal modem never does this, it stays connected indefinaitly) I cant find anything in the setup interface to turn the timeout off. My modem's an Actionec Dual PC modem, does anyone know how to turn that annoying feture off? It gets really aggrivating when im like right in the middle of a game and it decides to disconnect lol.

Are you sure it is the modem, or does your ISP enforce maximum connect limits?

When you say the internal modem does not do this have you used it recently just to verify it really is not your ISP?

Go into the network and dial-up connections in the control panel and right click on your dial-up connection. Select properties and go under the options tab. Depending on which version of Windows you are using there will either be a check box or a drop down menu that says idle time before hangup. Either take the check mark out of the box or select never from the drop down menu.

Yes it's the modem, I alternate between the two just about every day. I use the internal modem for long downloads & uploads since the external won't stay connected long enough.

Can't do that, its an external modem.
