maybe if those morons stop using copper and roll out fiber they wouldn't have that problem

I have seen an example of theft of fiber optic cable in a new FTTP neighborhood. Poor idiots probably thought it was copper. What a surprise when they did not find much copper when they burned the sheath of that stolen cable. It plainly stated optical cable on the outside, but I suppose reading is not a requirement to be a thief.
