Not just that, grave markers as well. Thieves have been making off with vases that are attached to grave markers for some time. Some of them contain copper. Think that's bad? Now they are even taking the whole grave marker!
Recently, my father's entire grave marker was lifted, rather than the just vase. The memorial park had been having problems with the vases disappearing occasionally for years, but with the copper issue, it's not only gotten worse, the thieves are now taking whole plaques. I don't know if it was because it was believed to contain copper as well (my father's was bronze), or if they couldn't cut the chain on the vase. Does it matter? Still sick.
