»Weird "blank face icon" next to logo
I don't see the "face icon" though, probably because I'm using a dark (black) background theme. It scared me, I typed in a word, it made a link, then I couldn't get rid of it, lol.....I also have mouseovers disabled, so I didn't see the words either.
EDIT: just saw your edit, I haven't got that far yet, I'll check it out. -- ~~"As long as America is an infidel enemy, terrorizing it is a duty." Sayed Imam Abdul-Aziz el-Sheriff~~

| Re: "Doing"? said by mers2 :Did this get changed today? I'm one who has had myself as a buddy for a couple of reasons and noticed tonight I'd disappeared from my list. Trying to make myself a buddy again failed. If you've disabled this option Please bring it back. I would use fourboxers tip above, but change STOP to START. There doesn't appear to be a button any more for watching yourself. | |

| Re: "Doing"? OK, just as an example I had an extension that polled the site to see if there was an update for the updates sticky. I was unaware until I saw my name on the buddy bar that it was actually showing me as here when I wasn't. Or other times when I've had connection problems or the site has had a problem. My nic popping up on the bar let me know there was at least a connection even if the page didn't load. -- Team Discovery

| Re: "Doing"? those are very specific reasons to do with your extension.
really I don't like user-written extensions that "poll". You have no idea how wasteful it is to re-generate a page every minute or whatever, for eternity. There is a firefox addon that does new topic notifications properly in a light-weight manner, thats the only approved way to access that info continuously.

| So, back on topic, I've tested the "Doing..." popup on the following browsers:
Mac: Safari 2 Safari 3 Firefox 2
PC: IE 7 Firefox 2
and rolling over a buddy's name does not produce a message. I've screen shots of it, but it doesn't work for me. -- Iraq Coalition Deaths | bobrk
