Tried the mouseover immediately after a buddy posted a message (had been visible on the "buddy line," waited for that display to stop), but no mouseover effect. Firefox 2.0.0.4.

Also, I noticed that the messages will sometimes persist for quite a while (a few minutes) in the buddy line, and other times will disappear within one refresh cycle. Any rhyme or reason?

Thanks. I raised the issue only because it gave an example of what I used having myself as a Buddy for - it has shown me when I appear on line when either I shouldn't or have had connection problems. :)

Doesn't the time stamp on the bottom left stay the same if you don't refresh the page - even if you are shown as online? My problem was I would not have known I was online here if I hadn't glanced at the screen after it showed me an update had arrived by a blue arrow for the extension if I hadn't seen my nick appear at the top of the screen. I was unaware the extension would do that - I assumed it was like dslr notifier.

For some reason when I've checked IM notification in the past it started giving me IM notification for all threads. Perhaps that has changed. I'll try it this week.

I'll leave mers2 See Profile to answer that, but another thing we tried in setting up this system for her use was using the RSS feed. In Firefox each page appears to have its own RSS feed code -- the link appears at the far right end of the address bar. But when trying to use it, I believe the actual feed resolves to the front page? or the full updated followed list? (Sorry, I wasn't the one to test that, mers2 See Profile can tell you the specifics.)

Is there some way to get an RSS update on a particular thread? and if not, why does Firefox appear to offer that option?

I was unaware until I saw my name on the buddy bar that it was actually showing me as here when I wasn't. Or other times when I've had connection problems or the site has had a problem. I don't see the "face icon" though, probably because I'm using a dark (black) background theme. It scared me, I typed in a word, it made a link, then I couldn't get rid of it, lol.....I also have mouseovers disabled, so I didn't see the words either.
