Jacksonville, FL | Merger made Copper hay Just after AT&T announced they were buying Bell South, BS stopped all infrastructure build outs until the merger was approved. Problem was all of the spools of copper were ordered months in advance, so the local BS yards were getting stacked with inventory.
After the merger was approved and they drew down the inventory, many spools were discovered missing. The thieves had simply drove into the supply yards and loaded up. Since they were stacked up so high, no one missed them until much later.
Based on current copper values, some people have made out very, very well. |
