We notice one of our biz class accounts is now up to 15MB for downloads.
1.2MB/sec downloads now.
Can anyone else confirm this? (or is it a fluke...)
According to a call to biz class, its now 15MB/2MB.

3 edits | Its not a fluke... I have the Res. 5 Meg / 512k and it went upto 7 Meg / 512k. (Milwaukee) A test at Speakeasy seems to confirm it. |

1 edit | I am from the Kenosha/Racine area and I noticed a speed increase too. Doing a speedtest at speedtest.wi.rr.com got me about 13/1. I wouldn't expect it to be at a weird number like that. I would have expected 12 or 15 down. Also I have RR Turbo. LoneBandit, what were your speeds before? I have a telecommuter package offered to me through work and last time I checked, they were getting 5/512.
Edit: Forgot to mention I have been noticing some connection problems lately. I have had major slowdowns going to several sites. If anyone has had similar problems let me know. |

1 edit | reply to lonebandit Yep.... new commercial tiers were launched nationally a few months ago featuring 10 and 15 Mbps downloads. Here's the new tiers:
Downstream x Upstream 10 Mbps x 512 Kbps 10 Mbps x 1.0 Mbps 10 Mbps x 1.5 Mbps 15 Mbps x 2.0 Mbps
»www.twcbc.com/sanantonio/product···eed.html
Teleworker and HBS accounts were automatically upgraded. Some markets may have automatically upgraded all the commercial accounts while other accounts will just need to call their rep to get the upgrade. |

1 edit | reply to lonebandit On my Road Runner Extreme residential connection, I'm experiencing speeds of about 12 Mbps / 1 Mbps. Is this the confirmed new speed for the Extreme service in Time Warner's Milwaukee division?
I get 13/1 from »speedtest.wi.rr.com

I think Speakeasy's Chicago speedtest.net server caps out at about 11 Mbps or so. |

1 edit | reply to Kralj I was supposedly getting 8.0/512 before the upgrade.
I would see downloads around 920k/sec and bursts here and there but nothing like the 1.2/1.5MB/sec we are seeing now.....
Nothing is on their web site and I am hesitant to call cust noservice as they likely haven't even been told.
News here is always a better source.
PS. I am stopping at the local TW office on the way home this afternoon. I have to drop off an abandoned modem from a tenant..so I will ask there. Maybe I will find something out... |

| I have the TWC Teleworker package, which is separated from residential traffic. I am now pulling 10/1.5, and have been for almost a month now.
I download around 1.2Mb/sec, but the funny thing is, my friend that lives 15min away from me that has residential RR, has a lower ping than me. For instance (counter-strike source), I'll have a 45 ping, he'll have a 32-32 ping, but I have a lot faster internet connection compared to his 5/512 connection.
I guess I'm confused as to how the Teleworker RR has better traffic prioritization, lol. |

| I went in to my local office today too. Seems we have had the upgrade for about a month, but I had to resign the agreement to get it. Kind aggrivated that I wasn't told, but it will make up for it when I see that new speed, which should happen today? |

If you're a teleworker you probably have a static IP. Ping times on static connections will normally be slightly higher than their DHCP counterparts because of the extra hop(s) they need to take.
But keep a close eye on your modem... if those pings start to get above 50-70ms to something like your local DNS server then something may have gone wrong... |
