When you buy stock do you look for companies that will not put your interests first? Investor interests and customer interests are contradictory. Investors want to get as much money from customers while giving them as little as possible. Customers want as much service as possible for the least amount of money possible - value.
A company that tends to put its investors interests first, tends to have a less than happy customer base.
