Wish TDS DSL would respond to the competition.. competitively priced of course.

| reply to boober321 said by boober321 :I'm actually in Milwaukee, and I haven't seen any speed jumps. I'm still at 5/384 (360 to be more specific.) Anyone else in Milwaukee seeing the jump? Yes. I live in Milwaukee and have standard service and went up to 7/512k. If you don't see it, try rebooting your modem. |

3 edits | reply to shurwd23 North East Wisconsin upgraded as well.
Bandwidth Class 020: (Turbo) Download Speed: 12709 kbps (1588.6 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 741 kbps (92.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Bandwidth Class 001: (Standard) Download Speed: 6884 kbps (860.5 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 412 kbps (51.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
I promptly called and downgraded to 'standard service'.
No sense paying extra when 7/512 is good enough.

1 edit | reply to bbgrunt0 They claim they did this to offset at&t competition...but I dont get that. Sure VDSL is faster, but u-verse only permits internet of 6mb/1mb...MAYBE 8mb soon.
I am debating getting u-verse since I can have 4 video streams for DVR whereas it seems TWC limits me to 2 right now.

Simple Java based thing - in case the big Internet sites can't keep up with the faster tiers! |

| reply to Xizer You sure did. "Standard" users are 7Mbps down / 512kbps up now! and 15Mbps/1Mbps for turbo folks. (I didn't even have to reboot my modem).
Watch for new marketing strategies. The "lite" 768kbps RR is going to be promoted more as a cheaper option, and a moderate speed 2Mbps tier will be part of some bundles. Those are the "hooks", then you "upgrade" in smaller increments. (Website not yet updated).
A little "response to competition" from AT&T |

What is this "Extreme" that people are talking about? Is there a class above "Turbo" in the Milwaukee area? |
