| Cable net options question
I hope this is the appropriate forum for this question (I read the rules). Comcast is the cable provider in my neighborhood in Nesbit, MS (15 miles south of Memphis). I cannot get DSL ; does that mean if I want cable internet that Comcast is my only option? I have heard/read very little about them that is good.

| Yes, if comcast is the only cable company serving your area, they would be the only choice for CABLE internet. There may be other BROADBAND options in your area (wireless, ISDN, Satellite, FIOS?) but generally DSL and cable are the 2 cheapest and fastest choices for most areas. People who have had a poor experince with any service provider tend to be loudest, so negitive stories you have read may represent a fairly small minority, my feeling is the vast majority of cable users a fairly satisfied (sure, many WISH for cheaper/faster, but do fine with what they get) because ComCast is made up from many different systems aquired or built over many years, actual experience varies greatly by area. Ask neighbors, local friends, etc. about how your local system does, will tell you much more then generalized nationwide reports. There is no contract, and often the modem and install (if needed) can be gotten free, so try it and if you don't like it, quit | | CableTool Poorly Representing MYSELF. Premium join:2004-11-12

You can search for reviews based on your location on this site. Even the latest reviews are up there in the upper right hand corner. -- CableFAQ.org/Technicians Unplugged
