Thank you for the tour Owlbet. The times I have been in Anchorage I never was able to see much of the town. I was taken from the airport to Wasilla and back the first time. The other time we drove straight through. Having taken the Alcan highway we were looking forward to reaching our destination. On the way home we took the Top of the World Highway, now that was an adventure as we learned what "termination dust" was. When we arrived in Dawson City no one could believe we made it through... glad we didn't know what we did when we were doing it.

Nice pics Owlbet. Brings back memories of just how beautiful it is there. When I visited Alaska I was amazed at just how blue the sky really is, not some shade of hazy grey or brown.
The bright colored flowers really are wonderful.

Here in rural WA, the deer eat the blooms before they can reach the top, so we never have winter . |

I give the fireweed another week to finishing blooming before they start to "blow cotton". Shortly thereafter the six week wait begins.
I'm glad everyone enjoyed the "Tour of Anchorage". Someday I'll do a tour of Palmer, or Wasilla, or Glennallen, or Valdez. |
