ATT will not provide the DSL signal without the end user having local phone service. I currently have AT&T DSL Pro for $17.99, but the promotional pricing is going to end next month and jump to $24.99, so I'm looking for alternatives. I also would not mind to get rid of my landline and leave AT&T behind entirely.

If I get DSL from Oplink.net, do I still need to get a landline from somewhere else? Would I need to keep my AT&T landline, which constitutes $23 of my $44 bill?
