Just shut up

hahaha all you people saying it reports back are really miss informed,i have read on soooo many forums of people tracking the connections it makes, and there has been NO proof of it "phoning home" so you all need to stop, unless you can provide proof that YOU collected.

it could be just uTorrent checking for updates.

i see similar things with ProtoWall.

uTorrent definitely phones home fairly regularly.

You have DHT turned on in uTorrent, and PG is blocking the connection attempts to the master DHT server.

What's with the tinfoil hat brigade? There is absolutely no proof that uTorrent "phones home" or sends data back to the MPAA/RIAA. Stop reading comments posted by morons on slashdot and taking it for fact.

Distributed Hash Tracking, a feature introduced in v1.6 of uTorrent. Allows for torrents to connect to other peers without the need for a centralized tracker. It's of limited use, frankly, and most private trackers don't want you using it either. You can turn it off in uTorrent's preferences.
