I have 16mbps/2000kbs blast available in Richmond, Virginia. This is not powerboost. I can upload large files (500MB or more) at over 200kb/sec.
Interestingly enough, I called Comcast last week telling them I was switching to Fios unless blast was available in my area. They told me that it wasn't available. However, a few days later I received a new cable modem config file (d11_m_sb5120_speedtierextreme2_c01.cm) and now I have blast speeds.

I should know because I am paying for it, and that is exactly the same name of the config file that I currently have.. -- Let us never forget 9/11 |

@comcast.net | I'm also in Chester Virginia as well and just upgraded to Blast about a month ago. The download speeds I get are insane, just with the 16/2. Fastest internet I have ever had.

| reply to Clymber So what does Blast! do anyways?
I am curious about this Blast! thing. Maybe we can get that here. I just need to get a job first so I can pay for my own package...rather than relying on my roommate's decisions to get whatever he wanted. |

| Blast! is a speed tier. From the first post in this topic ---> said by sortofageek :What is Blast? It is described under the Comcast HSI pricing structure here: » /faq/7024 Blast! is an actual speed upgrade to 16/1 or 16/2, which will be reflected in measures of actual download and upload. Because of PowerBoost, you cannot demonstrate the Blast! upgrade has been received. You can tell by measure of actual download and upload of large files, by looking at the capped speed in some modems' diagnostic pages, or by charges on your Comcast bill (if you have actually ordered the Blast! tier.) -- Join Team Helix * I am praying for these friends . |
