Blast! Tier Availability in Richmond, VA
I have 16mbps/2000kbs blast available in Richmond, Virginia. This is not powerboost. I can upload large files (500MB or more) at over 200kb/sec.
Interestingly enough, I called Comcast last week telling them I was switching to Fios unless blast was available in my area. They told me that it wasn't available. However, a few days later I received a new cable modem config file (d11_m_sb5120_speedtierextreme2_c01.cm) and now I have blast speeds.

I've had powerboost before...this ain't powerboost  Have had this newer speed for a couple of months. I wake up in the morning and it's still uploading at 2Mb |

I should know because I am paying for it, and that is exactly the same name of the config file that I currently have..

@comcast.net | I'm also in Chester Virginia as well and just upgraded to Blast about a month ago. The download speeds I get are insane, just with the 16/2. Fastest internet I have ever had.

So what does Blast! do anyways?
I am curious about this Blast! thing. Maybe we can get that here. I just need to get a job first so I can pay for my own package...rather than relying on my roommate's decisions to get whatever he wanted. |

You can tell by measure of actual download and upload of large files, by looking at the capped speed in some modems' diagnostic pages, or by charges on your Comcast bill (if you have actually ordered the Blast! tier.)
