As far as a provider, personally I use Vonage and am happy with them. AT&T and Verizon also seem to offer an attractively priced voip package now.
Personally, i'd stay away from these ultra low priced providers. They might very well be just another SR waiting to happen.

kudos:1 | I've heard bad things about Verizon's VoIP offering, I would advise people to stay away.
I'm still on POTS, as I use my cell phone as my primary phone....

I switched to Verizon VW, signed up on line had the equipment two days later. Don't know what you heard but VW has been great so far. |
