Thinking of changing to LightningBolt, have some questions.

First let me start out by saying sorry for any ignorance with the following. Im new to most of this & am still learning. Thanks.. .

Right now I have DSL with Qwest (1.5). Im thinking of changning because Qwest gives me a horrible ping rate.
Even tho the gaming server I play on is on the other side of the US, I know other people that ping way lower then I including people that live overseas. Ive asked around and ive been told basically if you use Qwest or any ISP that works with Qwest, my chances of having low ping is out the window. Then I read some post somewhere (I forgot where, sorry) that stated LightningBolt DSL works around Qwest and might give me a low ping rate to the server I connect to.. .

I was wondering if there is any way, or if anyone could give me some rough idea what my ping might be like if I switch over to LightningBolt using the DSL 1.5mbps

I live in Portland, Oregon & the server I connect to is in the GreatLakes area. Here is a trace. I hope I wasnt to confusing and look forward to any help. Thanks!!

I can ping that server from our office in metro Detroit, using an ADSL Line, however that really won't help you, since you are out in Portland. Maybe some of our users out in your area will chime in, unfortunately We do have a true way to show you a trace route, the best I could do, would be from our PoP in Seattle, but even that wouldn't be a true result, as that is right at the Internet backbone.

So in short, I can not give you an answer, but maybe one of our users can.

Ping has started ...

Thanks for responding & trying to help!!

That would be great if a LB user that lives in Oregon could help out.. .

Just so im clear (because I can get confused easy, lol) the 45ms avg is from Seattle to greatlakes.owo.com ?? Or was that from Detroit??

Thanks again!!

Sorry, what I posted above was from our HQ offices in Metro Detroit, using an ADSL circuit.
