Well, I took a different (cheaper) Buffalo right out of the box and had trouble with the tftp script.
I then logged into the buffalo web gui and went through the mandatory wizard... just saying manual connection I think just to get through it.
I went back to the script and it worked, although I paid more attention to the power off/on part also.
