Re: Ads on my cellphone - no thanks

Google is pretty smart about their ad business. I'd be shocked if they tried the audible ads method. Many a focus group would find that VERY displeasing. Ads will be displayed on the screen, and they will be able to target them geographically. So if a store nearby is running a sale, an ad will occupy the top banner of your phone telling you there's a store nearby with a sale going on. If ads are annoying they can have negative effects, which the people paying for them know, and google knows as well.

As much as ads on a cell phone sounds unpleasing, I'd take it anyday from shelling out $50 per month. But then again you may have another income than me. I am a soon-to-be college student working a part-time and income is limited.
I agree 100%...

Google is God if they do this.

See TCH's above quote from the article. You're exactly the target market.

I'd much rather fork out $50 per month for an ad-free cell plan than have ads on my cell phone. If they just displayed on the screen it would be fine, but I imagine they will be audiable as well, such as before (or even during!) a call.
