If your ATA loses power and reboots, you will have to confirm your location, and I agree that it's an annoyance. However, you can do that on the phone, as well. Make an outbound call, and when the announcement is finished, you can press "1" to indicate you've not moved, or "8" to indicate that you have moved. You do not have to log in to your user portal to un-block outbound calls.
That being said, I will strongly confirm Lenagainster  's advice of putting your ATA on a UPS. Even the least expensive one you can buy will keep your ATA up during the really short power blips that are most common. If you get a slightly higher capacity one that has at least 3 outlets, you can connect your cable (or DSL) modem and your router, and you'll maintain phone service during the power interruptions, as well... |
