So what if the clueless individual commented about fiber optics. Anyone with common sense would realize it's just a non-techie or wanna-be-techie making a comment about something he really didn't know what it was for (as it's apparent he got the info from his landlord, likely the most uniformed person he knows times 10). What makes the story real is the PHOTOGRAPHS of the cut phone line going into one of the VERY old Qwest phone boxes.
