| Comcast annoyed me time and time again, do I dumped their HSI, keeping only TV service. But they got me anyway.
Their last love fest came while stringing new cable up my street - a feeder line for a new development somewhere up the road. They subcontracted the work out to tree hackers that left -- three times -- debris all over the yard and street. One of the trees (a Dogwood) has since died. No, I can't prove it was due to these clowns, but I'd put even money on it. Yeah, go on with your pro-corporate mewling, I'm used to it. I take what amounts to the same every morning after breakfast and coffee thing is, mine smells better.
Just remember that the bigger they get the higher they climb, and the higher they climb the more of their ass is in your face because they simply don't care about anything but the bottom line from waaaay up there. Today's dollar rules; anything else isn't their problem. -- A monthly desktop thread is what happens when a Paris Hilton mentality mates with a computer |

| So you're mad they took the necessary and required-by-law safety precautions when working with wires and trees in the immediate vicinity of power lines (that can kill people)? -- Anonymous posts are ignored. | No, I'm mad they hacked at the trees like monkeys on bad acid, leaving dead branches hanging in the trees, all over the yard and on the street below not once but three times. Ultimately, work crews reflect their management. IOW, neither gives a F about the little things. Sooner than later those little things become the big things. Comcast is a ... 'big thing'. | Well, I myself have not had this issue, and I have lived at 4 different locations within the same city. I do NOT have a problem with the service, or with the people they have sent to my house to either install, or disconnect service. I have yet to have any trouble, maybe then I can tell you something negative. But my service at all the locations I have lived at has never required a trouble call. I have lived here for 6 years. OH, I forgot, once they had to replace the ariel drop from the pole all the way across the street, to the pole in my front yard, and over the the ground block on my house. They were there the next day after I reported the issue, and it took the tech 45 minutes to run the line. Problem solved. My point is just because 1 person has problems doesn't mean they WHOLE SERVICE is bad. They are just much bigger than the other companies, so of course you will hear from some of the customers who have issues. -- SIPPhone/Gizmo # 17476200648 / PIMPNET Chatline / Ran by Asterisk & Slackware 10.1. |

Ultimately, work crews reflect their management.-- I'd love to show you the hack job the power company did to one of my willow trees, and the hack job they also did to all of the trees going down my street. You'd swear only half of the tree ever grew. As for my willow, they pretty much chopped the top off of it.. it was so sad, I had it removed.
The city street crews came in and cut a 120 year old tree from my front yard and left a gaping spot in the landscape also taking my shade away. to repair the street on the other side of my frontage road.
While I agree with you, it's not just cable/comcast that does this. Had I known in advance this was going to happen, I would have strapped/chained some of their own employees to the trees before the crews hacked away. -- "Complaining is the least path of resistance for the self-serving, the lazy, and Im told its a womans prerogative..." |

 | If I had a tree in my 'own' front yard. Then they came to hack the thing to death.. They would be having a 12ga shotgun pointed in thier face. |

codeePremium join:2001-10-01 Minneapolis, MN | reply to fiberguy Has anybody seen the electric company run things over when they decided they needed to get to a pole in a hurry? I have. They take their HUGE truck, and basically drive to where they need to go, regardless of whats in the way. The particular instance I saw, they drove through 2 fences and a part of a shed to get to the pole they needed to do work on (I'm assuming it was a bit of a emergency) From what I've heard, they don't repair/replace the stuff they have to go through.
Companies that use the poles/buried cables have a right of way to get where they need to go. I've heard of people being forced to have their trees trimmed around utility poles, or else it would be done for them and they would be billed. |
