Re: TB - no incoming calls?

Maybe that means Choice One is working now without the all circuits busy message! I've been getting that message since July 27th. Kinda strange, I've had no email from Viatalk about when my number port is going to take place. Around 4:30PM today I received a call from someone dialing my old SR number to be ported and it came through without the circuits busy message. I did have call forwarding turned on on SR to my temp Viatalk number. I'd hate to test it by changing the forwarding and see if it SR working or the port taking place. If I dial out from the Viatalk line it shows my temp viatalk number on CID and I still login to Viatalk with my temp number. Coincidence?

If it is truly a Global Crossing problem, how come my Global Crossing number, one digit removed from the failing number but now assigned to VT still works?
I'd think once Viatalk ported the number it was changed to Level 3.

TB must have moved California away from the West Coast
And a good thing, too. I've been worried for years that California was going to fall off into the Pacific.

The network status page actually has an explanation:

quote:
08/06/2007 07:45 PM
Unable to make or receive calls, affecting all customers
Our primary vendor is currently experiencing a complete network outage. Global Crossings, the vendor responsible for the outage, is diligently working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible, and we will continue updating this ticket as more information becomes available.
Hummmm I have two numbers with Global crossing one digit apart.
The 1st number just ported from SR to Viatalk and is working inbound/outbound.
The second number is still with SR and is due to port to VT next week.
Currently like all numbers with SR and TB it will not accept inbound calls, while outbound is ok.

If it is truly a Global Crossing problem, how come my Global Crossing number, one digit removed from the failing number but now assigned to VT still works?
The notice states that it affects "all customers" - clearly this is to mean all sr/tb customers. I don't think it means all global crossing customers.

Plus, they're not saying that global cross itself is suffering an outage, but TB's primary vendor is suffering the network outage, caused somehow by global crossing.

this was posted at »gizmopasswords.blogspot.com/2007···34325440 on my blog today. Maybe "doug" can help us out with this fiasco:
Furthermore, I am an attorney living in Indianapolis, was a burned sunrocket customer, had my business phone number, held hostage/limbo for 10 days until could transfer it to teleblend, NOW trying to get it back to AT&T. I am a very smart lawyer. I am not a money grubbing lawyer. I have a solo practice, but work with large firms occassionally. If you have information that Teleblend is doing anything illegal, unethical, or otherwise please let me know.

That does explain why I can't call my SR/TB# but my colleague in FL who had SR and went with TB has both inbound and outbound calling.

I got through on their support line finally. When I told them where I was located, they said there was a problem in some of the mid-western states including Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. They said they're working on the problem, but as of yet have no ETA for the fix.

There is no outage. Service is working perfectly here. I've never experienced an outage with TB, and I use it every day. Your issue probably lies with your ISP.

Same in Dallas, TX.

Signed up with Teleblend on 7/29 to keep my number alive while I research a better solution. Everything worked fine until this morning. Now only outgoing works, incoming calls hear a fast busy.

My parents are in the same boat, but I signed them up with Net2Phone instead. It's been over 10 days now and we're still waiting for the number to port from Global Crossing. They are not going to pleased!
