| reply to aa Re: SAFA (Stand Alone FastAccess) - Confirmed today
You can port your home phone number out to another carrier (VOIP/Cell) but you might want to tell the service rep before ya switch over, once the line become a Dry Line there is no active phone service and LNP requires the line be active with no pending orders. |

thanks a lot, but what about the home phone after we get SAFA, will it keep working and do we need to call customer care for disconnection of home phone.. after the home phone goes i would switch to Lingo.. i hope there should be no problems You need to switch to Lingo or whatever VOIP carrier you choose BEFORE you disconnect your line with BS er, um, ATT as the line must be live when they do the port - if you disconnect your line before subscribing to Lingo they cannot port the number.
However, if you don't care about your current phone number and want a brand new one, go ahead and sign up for SAFA, disconnect the number and buy in store or call to order your Lingo box.
Enjoy the switch to VOIP... Long time user here and it works flawlessly on DSL (cable, not so much).

Whom ever you spoke with is incorrect. If someone tells you that Wireless is necessary, tell them look up there referance materials using their online tools. I was told the same thing back in June, but when i called this month i was told the bundle was changed August 1st. If anyting you can always ask f or a manager |

@bellsouth.net | reply to bluepoint951 so the total cost for safa with dsl ultra is 42.95 right? safa for 15 a month - 10 dsl line discount + 37.95 for the dsl ultra line = 42.95 or it is 37.95 total for everything? |

| reply to bluepoint951 I wish they would have done this 2 months ago. Suddenlink finally pissed my off so I drop them and got 6 meg dsl. I have a bask no frills line. And I pay total with taxes $55 so with this deal it would be $51.90 with just basic Texas Sales tax so I would only be saving $3 a month and I would still need to get a VOIP. So I think I will stay stiff for now. But its nice to know I can get it |

| reply to bluepoint951 I just ordered it from ATT last week and Paid 7.50 plus (19.95/mo for a year) then it jumps to $29.00/mo. It has to be better than COMCAST-Houston. This provider(Comcast))has horriable customer service and refuse to admit they have problems. |
