Lusst, it will go back to the original factory settings. All previous settings were erased. At least mine did. It initially needed to use the original VZ username and password, rather than the one I substituted with. I chose to go to settings to reset my SSID, etc. |

Hey guys, any idea why i cant connect my 360 to my windows media player? I get on xbox live fine but when i test the media connection it passes the IP address test but fails the PC selected test. Ive tried opening all the ports it says to open on my (stupid) router and PC. I've tried shutting of the firewalls and everything. Thanks! |

2 edits | I have the same router with FIOS and everything works for me, Media Center, etc, also I have the NAT open. How you do this is ease guys. First make sure that in your computer you have windows file and sharing enable. And if you are using a firewall in you computer you need enable file and sharing as well in the firewall. Also some firewall you can allow file and sharing in your subnet that is you home network. In the actiontect router you have to go firewall setting and do port forwarding to you Xbox for the NAT, doing so the NAT will say OPEN. Note: You need to know the IP of the XBOX 360 in order to do the PORT FORWARDING. How you know the ip well in the router it say my network in same screen you will see all devices with their IP addressing using the router. My advice is to assign a static ip to the Xbox 360 in this way you know what ip the Xbox is using and will use all the time that it is connect to live.
Note: you do not have to disable any firewall or anything crazy to make the thing work. Just be patient and read read read read. |

| reply to AocLokk OK i have a huge problem that occured after i switched from roadrunner to verizon FIOS. After they installed everything and it was all hooked up everything seemed to work fine. When i tried to host a game it lags terribly, and everything is hard wired so there shouldnt be any problems. All the ports are open to my connection for xbox live. Like I said before there was never a problem before i got the FIOS, now I can host games on xbox live, but i can still connect off host and no lag. How can this be???? |

| I can say for sure the AT router has problems with not just Xbox Live, but pretty much any UPNP program. I tried many many upnp services and it was hit or miss. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt.
I finally ditched the AT for a DIR-655 and everything works flawlessly. I also hung a NIM-100 for the coax side of everything. M |

| reply to AocLokk Sucks for you. Here's an idea. Go out and buy a PS3 and take your piece of crap 360 and use it as a book end, cause that's all it will be worth soon. We already destroyed you in the HD-DVD market. What's next? Xbox360 will end up the same way as the turbo graphix 16 and sega saturn did. Aren't you glad you spent all that money for a garbage system. |

1 edit | reply to Maestr0 uPnP is garbage. I don't have FiOS, but it's caused many problems for me, especially when searching for game servers on Steam which locks up my $200 router with uPnP on. I turned uPnP off and instantly, every problem I had with the network and stuff trying to get out to the internet fixed itself (and I could finally host Halo servers as well!). |

Hate to break it to you but most of us bought the 360 to play games. The 360 is not an HDDVD player. You need an add-on for that. Has zero effect on the games or any of the LIVE functions.
Oh, and the ps3 uses UPNP too. |

Actually, UPNP has a bad rep...when it works, it works great...its just that there is a lot of interoperability problems (which the U in UPNP was supposed to take care of!) |

| reply to jbarnes7952 I have FiOS as well in the Tampa, FL area and I agree something has changed recently. I am a frequent Halo 3 player on Xbox Live and within the last 2-3 weeks I have noticed a significant increase in lag when I hardly saw any in the past. I have even bypassed my router and hooked my 360 directly to the CAT 5 coming directly from the ONT on the outside of my house and I am still seeing the same results as when I am behind my router.
I am also one of the original FiOS customers in my area and on PPPoE instead of DHCP like the newer customers. So, I am curious if DHCP customers are experiencing the same lag as well or if it appears to be only PPPoE customers. |
