This actually isn't that rare. As above posters have noted, whenever a baby is born with a tale in the U.S., it is quickly surgically removed.
Just like children who are born with both genitalia. The parents make a quick decision based on info from the doctor whether they want their baby to be a boy or a girl, and then there is a quick surgery and the kid never knows what happened. | |

| I'm not saying that people can't be born with a "vestigial organ" type of tail. But that thing was 6-9 inches long of mutated floppiness. Maybe I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but this instance looked fake (made for your TV viewing pleasure).
I'm still not convinced that this particular tail is 100% real. I'd have to see a little more proof. | |
