Actually FIOS getting 10% of the market is pretty impressive... until you figure out how much Verizon spent to get that 10%.

It is possible to make any money spending twice as much as cable just to wire a house while taking in less per subscriber? (Not to mention doing that while losing the core business of landlines.)

Therein lies the fundamental flaw of FIOS, at least economically.
