You call a Grandcentral number and its forwarded say to your cell. Which pick up first cell's vm or gc's vm? |

| I had this same question and found an answer somewhere on the GC site. You just need to make your cell phone outgoing voice mail message at least 15 seconds long. It seems to work perfectly. |

| I thought GC's VM kicks in @ the fourth ring and if your cellphone's VM is set to the 4th ring, then both will kick in with the VM from your cellphone will pick up empty voice. Can anyone confirm this? -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

| reply to jeffnyc I have my GC number pointed to two numbers. It seems as though GC controls the call. I get voicemail at GC but I do get a partial voicemail on my cell. very strange.
I guess it depends on your cell company and how much control they give you over number of rings etc on your voicemail.

If you make your cell VM at least 15 seconds long you should not get strange or dummy VM on your cell phone. |

"How do I stop GrandCentral from leaving voicemail messages on my cell, home or work voicemail systems?"
"GrandCentral will disconnect a call from your forwarding numbers after it is answered if no action (pressing 1, 2, 3 or 4) has been taken within 15 seconds.
Therefore, to prevent the GrandCentral message from being recorded by your cell (or other) voicemail systems, all you have to do is record a voicemail greeting that is at least 15 seconds in length, before the beep. Most cellular systems add a number of seconds of instructions after your greeting, so your actual message length need not be more than 10 seconds." |
