I ported two numbers away from TB on 8/3. According to Nuvio, my numbers were snapped back by TB shortly afterward. Nuvio challenged the taking back of one number and was able to reclaim it. I later began a new port of the second number with Net2Phone and that number transferred on 9/10. |

| reply to Oeberon Sunrocket nor Teleblend are holding on to any numbers. Packet 8, Vonage, ViaTalk, SunRocket, Voip.com, Lingo, and Teleblend all get numbers from carriers. When someone LNP's a number to another service, that old carrier that held the number now has to release the number. It is not the service provider (the guys I listed above) that does this. They actually have no say in this process at all. |

| reply to dmolavi said by dmolavi :Now, to clear things up, are the only people who are experiencing this signed up w/ TB (to save number, etc)? Or are non-TB subscribers who went to another provider (not necessarily packet8) also seeing this? I signed up directly with Packet8. I never signed up for service with TB; I did not trust that they would be a viable option as they had only been around for 2 weeks prior to the SR downfall. I have been waiting for 6 weeks for my number to port. I called P8 after 2 wks and was informed that SR or TB was holding on to lots of numbers and they they were currently in a lawsuit over it with them. The CSR told me that it would be another 4 weeks. It has been 4 weeks and my number still has not ported. I would just say to hell with the old number and use the new one except that the number P8 assigned me is not local to some of the areas that my un-ported number is local to; people that have always been able to make a local call to me are now having to dial long distance.
Due to the porting issue and the SERIOUS LACK of features with P8, I am seriously considering canceling and finding another provider, but I fear I may have f**ked myself by waiting so long. Has anybody had any experience with Magic Jack? |

| reply to kallsop Riddle me this Batmen. How do I have incoming calls registering at the same time on my SR and Net2Phone accounts at the same time. Same number, exact same minute. My number ported Tues. and this happened yesterday. Looks like about 6 calls were affected. They show up as missed calls in SR but were answered here. Very Weird. |

| reply to DigitalPure said by DigitalPure :so TB did not do anything illegal in all reality it is the stupid carriers that messed this up. Some Sunrocket phone numbers are generating "please sign up with Teleblend" incoming announcements even on numbers where the customer has not signed anything with Teleblend.
Are you saying that it isn't Teleblend doing those announcements? Why is someone other than Teleblend asking callers to sign up with Teleblend? That doesn't make any sense to me. |

| reply to DigitalPure I signed up with Viatalk on 07/17 and faxed Viatalk LOA on the same day. Because I did not receive any response back from Viatalk in a week, I decided to cancel Viatalk account and ported my primary number to Teleblend and signature number to T-mobile. The primary number was ported without any problems. However, T-mobile told me the request for porting is rejected by Global Crossing because there is another request. I contacted Viatalk by phone 2 times by waiting 3-hour each time. Viatalk confirmed that the porting has been canceled. I called T-mobile and let T-mobile know T-mobile is the only company with my authorization. From then, T-mobile has tried the porting requests a few times and all of them are rejected by the same reason. I've called, emailed and faxed Viatalk to ask them to make sure the porting has been canceled. It's been more than 3 weeks. I still don't get any luck. Global Crossing does not tell T-mobile what company is trying to port the number. The only thing T-mobile can do is to keep trying.
Does anyone know what I can solve this?
Thanks, |

| reply to downinkc Just a FYI, SR/TB does not happen to get involved with the port. What appears to have happened is that the carriers cut off the service to the SR system, and took all their numbers back. well when TB got the service turned back up, then the numbers that the carriers had control of were still registered as SR numbers since they were not processing (the carriers) the ports they put them back on the circuits.
so TB did not do anything illegal in all reality it is the stupid carriers that messed this up. If you try to port your number away now, the carriers are the ones that are handling the ports, NOT TB so it is hard for TB to steal a number, that they dont even have control over.
if you are really ticked off, I would suggest you call the carrier and tell them to get their act together and not the FCC or TB. They cannot do anything about it.
If you are curios how I know this, I work for a voip hardware provider, and so I am in the local industry. We saw teh same problem with another voip provider that went down. |

| reply to downinkc Previous SR victum. Signed with Packet8 and requested porting on July 31,2007. Nothing yet. Packet8 unable to come up with a difinitive answer as to why my SR# is not porting over. They know, they are just stalling and when I try to pin them down they tell me they are going to escalate my porting process. I've been told that many times by them and still nothing. It is absolutely true that "teleblend" must be holding my SR numbers hostage because people that try to call me on my old SR# get the following message "We apologize for the inconvenience but your existing Sunrocket service has been disconnected! To activate your new sevice with Teleblend please visit www.teleblend.com or call 1-877-488-5519 or dial 0 from your phone. I never applied for or activated with teleblend. Anyone else with same problem? |

| reply to dmolavi I wish it were that simple, google - Verizon, class action, federal law suit, New Jersey. Verizon was overcharging hosptials, shools, government facilities, pennies on the dollar, which resulted in millions. The millions of dollars verizon had to pay out in penalties was a drop in the bucket, did those institutions find other phone providers, NO, Verizon lobbied and made some deals and they are back doing business with the same institutions they were ripping off blindly in the past, THAT'S USA. |

| reply to HenryDavid said by HenryDavid :I ported from Verizon to SR within 2 days, 2 years later I'm trying to port from SR to Packet8 and 2 weeks later no porting, no answers, nothing. The government needs to set regulations for these VOIP companies, which of course will take longer than any process known to man. regulation from the feds is not the answer, that will turn VoIP into POTS. customers regulate these companies. if the companies screw the customers, they leave, the company goes under. it sucks for those of us that got caught in the SR flameout, but that's the way it works. | reply to downinkc Keep in mind, the only reason that is happening is because both TB and P8 use the same carrier. The carrier's are the ones that are screwing up everything. It is the same reason mine and everyone else inbound isn't working either. TB looks like they are trying to provide a service and the carriers are just pissed off about SR and taking it out on them. Give 'em a break! |

| reply to WAVZuser Funny. I guess if you want your # ported to P8 or TB, you just have to tell them not to port it.
Just how many ports can they juggle at one time?
On with the tug of war games! |

| reply to downinkc My SR number was ported to P8 very quickly (4 days after I told them not to port it).
Then SR/TB took it back, then P8 took it back 2 days later.
It amazes me that SR/TB and P8 can toss my number back and forth without my permission, but VT can't port it to them with my permission.
Obviously the people who actually port the numbers and the people who answer our customer service calls have no efficient means of communicating with one another. |
