FIOS in San Francisco

Dear Dale,

When will FIOS be available in San Francisco?

I thought of posting this on the SF forum, but then thought that I would get more authoritative advice here. Dale?

Which leads me to another question which you, obviously, have already considered. Will your company be able to offer FIOS when AT&T finally enables it? I believe that you said in a previous letter that the TELCO wasn't obliged by law to offer you provisioning points beyond 2010.

Thanks.

Only Verizon is doing FIOS, and San Francisco is all AT&T, so there will likely never be FIOS in SF unless AT&T changes their strategy.

Sonic.net is working toward deployment of ADSL2+ and, potentially, VDSL2. These protocols will allow us to deliver much faster access to customers. San Francisco is one of the markets that we're very likely to deliver this in.
