K, sorry to see you go (I'll still keep an eye out for you around town). I thought for sure you would hang on until the new guide came around. But I can understand - losing dial tone repeatedly would send me over the edge too. As for which service to go with, I don't know - I've always been partial to DirecTV. Yeah Dish is adding new HD channels real soon... but DirecTV is adding a WHOLE bunch this fall. May be worth looking into.
Good luck to you. |

| JPL, the Telephone Line has already been marked for porting, Fios Internet has both feet on a banana peel, but I think I will be waiting to see the IMG 2.0 to see if it makes any difference.
I spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon today, asking for the simple favor of letting me have my copper phone line back.
Verizon put me through a nice Phone, TV, and Internet outage for more than 4 hours the other night. They blamed the trouble on a power outage at my home, although the power was on.
Fortunately, it was after 9PM so I wasn't burning peak airtime on my ironically enough 'Verizon Wireless' cell phone.
In so many words, I was told fiber is now, copper is history, and there would be no going back.
CLEC's don't have access to Verizon's fiber network, so copper is their past, present, and future.
At least for my telephone service, and likely the data service, copper is once again the foreseeable future.
The TV situation is still to be determined, but that's a story for the Fios TV thread. -- We're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat !! |
