xrobertcmx : Verizon told me last week that I can get 3/768, they did a distance check and put me at about 10000ft. Earthlink said I could get it, but now claims that Verzion is telling them I can only have 800/180 because I'm at 20,000ft. I don't get it, they keep contradicting each other.
I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your Comcast service. So far, it has been nice, I just wish I knew what I was signed up for. The install tech had me go through some menu when he was here and the prices didn't match what the promo was. The pink copy he left shows no campaign, and the folks in billing keep trying to transfer me to tech support.
They are not winning friends or influencing people today.
But my driver download was at 700K not 70, so I'm not yelling at anyone yet.
--
Retaking our country one election at a time.

Jestan01 : Funny how things work! Same happened to me… I had Verizon DSL “768/128” for about 2 years and I wanted to move on to something faster. I called EarthLink and asked if I could get the 6.0Mbps that was been offered, they said “Yes” I signed up. That was June 30, to make a long story short after 3 appointments with a VERIZON phone technician and many calls to me saying there was a problem with my line they were able to connect my home phone service with DSL on July 30, apparently the problem was 2 blocks from my apartment “Yeah, Right!” Verizon DSL worked fine before… After using the service for a wile I realized I was not getting the 6.0Mbps promised to me but only about 1.3Mbps, I Called EarthLink to find out what gives… They now tell me I can’t get 6.0 but only what I was getting. Since my trial was up I ordered the service canceled called Comcast and that was the end of it… My Comcast service is “Comcastic” and I got the 6.0Mbps I wanted…
