Unfortunately these newer inside only ONTs only came out about 1 month ago. If a whack to the ONT throws the system on or off, then the problem is most likely the very well known issue with the 612 ONT that the connectors do not pinch down properly and come loose after a while. I would definitely insist upon the integrated BBU/PSU/ONT. I have a very strong feeling it will solve at the very least the phone and internet problem. |

| So an Indoor Verizon ONT Would have finally the fixed everything forth ONT Whack-Off Outdoor ONT??
Verizon actually admits that they have a Whack-Off problem....
If they offer me the opportunity before the Cavalier Telecom switch over occurs, I would install an additional 2x2 piece of plywood for VERIZON to attach it to.
I requested this back in September of 2005, but because the Inside ONT would be in a basement, and not a garage, they declined my request.
WTF???? I really want to watch the local trash hauler, BFI, compact the current ONT, and cart it off to the LOCAL LAND FILL.
Verizon has been offered the opportunity, yet refused the request.
More electronics and plastics in the local landfill., no longer my problem.I can' wait to see what happens... -- We're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat !! |

| John97, a 4th ONT (2nd 612)was installed here today.
I guess I really need to stop Cavalier Telephone from porting my number to their CLEC service now, but the Verizon tech was only pretty sure that the problem was the ONT, and could not rule out the BBU or Power Supply, which were both NOT replaced.
I am at a loss where I might get Cavalier POTS and DSL, along with FiOS Data and TV for a few months, until I can determine which is the most reliable.
I can't add enough that my wife is has Epilepsy, so there is always a Lifeline condition included with any telephone carrier I have.
Fortunately I have several lines of cellular phone service from different carriers, so I should have one of those 99.99999% reliability rates.
I am just afraid to chance it at this point.
Verizon tells me that I should be fine now, and I would like to truly trust them on that statement.
I do feel much better that this was Red Shirt Thursday, and the tech was wearing his Red CWA Union Color Shirt.
At least I know that I am dealing with an experienced, and well trained professional. -- We're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat !! |
